For years, YEARS (about 12) I thought the whole fanfic thing was silly.  I started reading a bit in November and since mid-December I have written and posted (there's stuff I haven't posted yet, although much of it was lost in the great external hard drive tragedy of 2011 *cries*) over 30,000 words of fanfic (approximately 10k a month apparently - all of it utter drivel), GRANTED not all in one story BUT STILL. 

I've read a bit of the Sherlock slash, but honestly the only fandom that appeals to me is H50, essentially Danny/Steve, though occasionally I'll read some of the other stuff.. I do not know what happened. I could not tell you why. All I can say is that I hope this continues and that my crap writing can get just a little bit better.

Not all fan fic is horrible except for authors who are more about getting praised rather than actually you know, writing really well. And those authors who claim to not be able to write a summary. Uh, if you can't write a summary what makes you think you can write a fic?

I never read any of it so it didn't really have anything to do with whether or not the writing was in fact quality. I just thought the whole idea was silly - if it wasn't "cannon", than I just wasn't interested.

And it comes down to H50. I mean I've read a couple of BBC Sherlock fics and a couple of WH13 ones, Psych, Leverage, NCIS and seen some good writing and some bad. Regardless of the writing, I just don't care all that much. It's all about the H50 for me - I can't understand it, can't explain it, but I'm just going along for the ride, like I do with all my obsessive phases.

Also, my writing is shite - I have no delusions, but I have too a good a time writing it to wanna quit.

For me as long as it's not AU, it's pretty canon. I can't stand AU fics. I've read mostly The Lost World fics and Warehouse 13 fics.

Sorry but H50 will never win over Castle in my world. I don't care how hot Alex is. Nathan Fillion pwns him. ;-b

The beauty of DVR is that I get to watch both. I love H50 and Alex and Scott HOWEVER, if I had to pick a celebrity husband it would be Nathan Fillion. If I had to pick my ideal husband, it would be Nathan Fillion. If I had to pick my favorite actor, (as much as I love so many actors) it would have to be Nathan Fillion.

Sadly I don't own a DVR (with my cable it would have cost too much to get one through them & I can't afford to buy one myself) so all my love goes to Castle. My cable doesn't have CBS On Demand so I can't watch it that way and I hate how most network sites run their vids. The only time I've EVER watched any vids on CBS was to catch up on eps of The Big Bang Theory. :D

Nathan is a ham, but he's so damn adorable and genuine it's very hard not to love that man. :D

I steal my parents' DVR so I don't pay - thankfully. It's a really nice treat, but not something for which I could pay on my own. Had I not had DVR available though, I never would have seen H50 cause I would have been watching Castle.

He's funny, genuine, nerdy, kind, and likeable. He likes his jokes, but he's funny without hurting people's feelings. I love that he embraces the Browncoat/Firefly/Serenity stuff and the fans. He always just seems so great about everything. Honestly, I love his ham-i-ness.

I don't live any where near my 'rents and I don't think they have a DVR either. LOL

Nathan is such a total ham but that's part of why I love him. :D
