There is a code amongst most employees. Especially ones who are friends. We don't "tattle" on each other. It's your job to check up on people. I am not your spy.

You should also be aware that people can respect your title (or at least your ability to fire them) without ever having respect for you as a person. If it doesn't matter to you which they have, great, but don't ever assume that people respect you, more than likely they just don't want to get in trouble.
