This weekend was busier than I would’ve liked it to be, but that’s pretty common for me these days I think. It used to be that I would barely do anything outside of the house any weekend. I probably did outside activities once a month. Well, when J still lived in town I did usually do stuff with her on Tuesday or Wednesday night each week and then something on a weekend here and there. It was pretty limited what I would do and I suppose I’m still not bungee jumping or going on hikes through the Appalachian mountains, but I am doing more stuff.

I wouldn’t want to give up any of the things I did this weekend, I don’t think. I definitely wouldn’t want to give up going to my sister’s place for dinner. There was breakfast food (eggs, fried potatoes, toast, pancakes, sausage) and lasagna so I had lasagna for dinner and pancakes for dessert because I am a grown ass woman and I do what I want. Or something. “Grown” may be an exaggeration. Chronologically though, I am an adult so no one can stop me from eating lasagna and pancakes for dinner.

Work was pleasant. We were just busy enough most of the day that I didn’t have time to do much of anything except work. I like having time to be “bored” which means time for projects (usually work, occasionally personal, sometimes reading), but I want to keep my job so busy is better really.

I’m so flipping tired today. I mean, I’ve been pretty constantly tired lately in general because I’m still trying to adjust to the whole “waking up before sunrise” shenanigans that have been going on in my life lately, but I’ve also been busy at work and I’m sure that exercising is contributing. I know people talk about needing less rest when you exercise regularly, but I’m still calling bs on that. When you’re me, and you’re consistently struggling to make yourself go to bed at night, you’re already running on a pretty large sleep debt and adding using real muscles and doing real physical work to the mix is hard on the body. It can’t recover from the weightlifting to heal the muscle if I’m not getting rest. It’s been pushing me to go to bed earlier than I have in the past, which is a pretty great thing.

I was filling in for someone who couldn’t finish the “Escape from Azkaban” Quidditch “race” the last few days which meant getting as many miles in as I could. The problem with that is that I’m really struggling with Plantars Fasciitis and I have been able to find my foot brace. I do have a spiky ball, which helps A LOT, but the real trouble with Planters Fasciitis is that pain in your arch isn’t caused, for the most part, by issues in the feet. It’s caused, mostly, due to muscle knots/tight spots in your calves and Achilles heels. The massage therapist I haven’t been to in ages says it’s all geometry, which makes sense. The muscles in my calves pull on the tendons of my feet and ankles and those tendons can only stretch so far since their whole purpose in life is to hold your body together.

I’ve ordered a new brace, but I’m hoping my old one will show up soon. I wouldn’t mind having both of them. Both of my feet hurt, though one side more so than the other.

I just nodded off while typing. I think I--and I mean this literally--I finished that last sentence in my sleep. I need to go to bed.
