Tonight was book club night so I was at work late, which meant that I also started later. It was nice to get a “late start.” I put that in quotation marks, because Dad and I did go to the gym this morning but instead of heading out at 5:15 like we have been, we left right around 7:20 or so. Tomorrow is another “before the ass crack of dawn” mornings, but I’ll also get to come back here, have a shower, and then take a nap before I go to work, so that will help. I should still be working on getting into bed about an hour ago, but I just couldn’t resist watching one more Shadowhunters episode because I am an addict.

Having an Apple watch means that each month, there’s a goal the thing sets for you and you can earn a special “award” for reaching that goal. You literally earn a virtual trophy, more or less, but it’s kind of cool that it sets them. I’ve earned January, February, and March so far this year and I’m hoping not to break the trend any time soon. That said, April’s goal seems like it’s going to be pretty hard. The goal they set is usually based on something from the month before. I can’t remember each of the goals, but for an example, one goal was to beat the number of times I’d reached double my daily goal from the month previous. So, for example, I’m guessing that was last month since I can still remember it and not the others, I was told to beat my daily calorie goal (a goal I set for myself) by double three or so more times over the course of the month than I had the month before. If I did double my goal or more two times in February, the goal was to beat it by a factor of two at least four times over the course of the month.

So this month, the goal is to average about 100 more calories a day in April than I did in March. I’m concerned about burning out, but I still think I might be able to manage it. I’ve got a spreadsheet set up to track it even though I’m sure the watch will give me some idea how I’m doing. I feel more in control of the situation by tracking it myself though. I averaged around 650 “active” calories a day last month and this month they’re saying to get the “trophy” I’d need to average 751 “active calories a day. Yesterday I did just over 600 words, but today I got 900 and some change. I’m kind of looking forward to tracking it though. I find that I’m kind of in love with tracking stuff like this for myself.

Okay, I can’t hold my eyes open anymore, I’ll have to take this up again later.
