It’s been a wild couple of days. I’m stressed about tomorrow even though I’m sure the day will be fine. It’s the library’s 25th Anniversary Party tomorrow and there are just so many things going on and so much I’ll need to do juggled with all the things I normally do and it’s just a whole fucking lot. I mean, not like it’s a hospital and people’s lives are in my hands. And yet my anxiety continues to tell me dumb shit. I think I may take one of my “as needed” anxiety meds tonight since I woke up at 3am to stress about stupid shit coming up. Like I need that in my life. Honestly.

 

Another thing I don’t need in my life? A new ‘ship. But what do I have? At least one new ship; maybe two. Yeah, I know. There’s a show called Strike Back and they’ve started a new season with new people and missions etcetera. There is a team of four people, two guys and two girls (who report to a black woman who has a white male assistant--like hells yeah girl, get it). I’m guessing that they’ll eventually put one of the guys with one of the girls, the other guy will stay a “player” or whatever, and the other girl will date outside the group but the guy won’t be allowed to know what she it is she really does. I mean, who knows. One of the girls is definitely queer coded (Ruby Rose looking girl with tons of badassery and kickassery) so if I’m really lucky (and this is Cinemax so there’s a chance) she’ll be actually queer, not just queer-looking.

 

But I am kind of already shipping the girls together and I’m definitely already shipping the two main guys together. Ugh.

 

And these writers are working for this reaction from me. I already know I’m being baited. In the first episode, when the two guys are arguing (because that’s pretty much all they do when they aren’t shooting bad guys or running away from explosions) the Ruby Rose girl said something like, “why don’t you two kiss already and get it over with.” But even though I know what they’re up to, I’m still falling for it which is just so ridiculous and so typical of me.

 

In this second episode, one of them saves the life of the other and the other is still yelling at him for something he did earlier in the episode and the guy hugs the guy yelling at him and is like “we got the guy and tomorrow the beers on me!” and it’s all manly, but it’s still charming. They did the height difference thing too, with the two girls and the two guys. Like Ruby Rose girl is probably 5’ 4” and the other girl is like 5’ 10” and then there’s basically the same height different between the dudes but they’re just a little taller. The angry British dude is probably on like 5’ 7”.

 

Okay, according to IMDB, the boys are nearly the same height (5’ 9” ish), but they just don’t look like it on TV. maybe it’s just camera angles or something. And the girls are 5’7” and 5’5” (mmm, I think the one girl is taller than the Brit guy, but okay IMDB).

 

They remind me so much of Danno and Steve--very much one of them complaining about the other’s communication style being “he says a witty one liner and then he shoots you in the face” kind of shit only it's "fortune cookie bullshit and then shoots" so it’s not like I can resist.

Looking at them again, I do see that they're closer in height than I thought they were. That girl that I thought was so tall, she was probably in heels when I got that impression since she was "undercover" in a club dress thing to get close to a target in the first episode.

 

Literally none of this matters and I need to go to bed, but, ugh, I’m going to be looking for fanfic soon, I just know it.
