Crazy Disjointed Madness

My intention was to spend today reading and writing. Instead I’ve been watching TV/movies. Right now I’m watching The Descendants 2 but I also watched a Christmas movie two episodes of Lucifer and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. I didn’t even get up until 1pm.

I should focus on writing. I definitely want to finish writing the Darcy/Natasha story I’ve been working on here and there the last few days. It’s only a couple of hundred words and it’s difficult because I sort of know where I want it to go but I haven’t worked out exactly where I want to get and getting where you want to go when you don’t really know where you’re going. It’s one thing if you think you know where things are going and then they take a turn or something because that happens. It just seems to me that if you have an idea of where it’s going and it takes a turn, the turn is usually organic to the story. Forcing something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not the right thing because you can’t run on “inspiration” all the time. A lot of good writing comes out of forcing yourself to write.

Which is what I should be doing right now or at least after I finish this movie. I still have The Descendants 2 on and I really find it charming. It mean it’s ridiculous and it’s a Disney movie for sure, but it’s really cute and there’s some good songs. Aside from “Rotten to the Core,” I think the music is overall better in the sequel than the first one. I might like the dancing better too. I’d love to see more Uma because I think her story could be a lot of fun to follow through. She’s kind of a badass for a Disney channel villain (hopefully turned good) and I just think there’s a lot of potential in that story. I also hope that if they do another one of these (and I’m almost certain they will) that Gil and Harry (I’m pretty sure those are the names of the sons of Gaston and Captain Hook respectively) will get to be gay. According to some of the things I read, the two actors had done an impromptu kiss during one of the song/dance numbers because there’s a reference to a kiss between two pirates in one of the books, but that the scene got cut. I don’t know if they’ll follow through, but Disney has always had gay undertones in their stories and over time it’s gotten less undertone and more overtones, so I’m hopeful. Plus they’re the ones that printed the Magnus Chase series and the Trials of Apollo and those are suppppeeerrr quuueeeeeeeerrrrr so it’s not like they’re not supportive in general.

Ugh, I’m hungry and … holy shit it is 1 in the morning. I don’t understand how it got that late so fast. I guess I’ve only been up for a bit over 12 hours so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised that it’s gotten so late so fast. I told myself I’d do better bed wise tonight but I’m not tired at the moment. I was tired last night because of the week I had staying up too late and being busy at work. Last night I could barely keep my eyes open at 2am and tonight I’m feeling quite awake. I’ve been bouncing around which means that I started typing this post around 11 pm and it’s now 2am and I still haven’t done any work on my story. More ugggghhhhh.
