I had a pretty lovely day off today. I did a lot of dusting and a bit of vacuuming which probably doesn’t sound glamorous or anything but I enjoyed it. The cable people came today. We already had their internet because we were pretty unhappy with the DSL or whatever it was that we had previously but we thought we would try out the TV portion while we were at it. With the whole package we got an update on the Internet too and (in theory) we’ll be paying a little less. Downside so far is that we only have the one TV hooked up to a DVR (all of them used to have access to recording and playing DVR options with the Dish), but the upside is On Demand on all the TVs. Anyway, we’ll see how things go. I think we had a few more channels on the other one too, but the satellite bill was $165 on it’s own and the new bill with the internet and the phone won’t (again, in theory since you never know what stuff is going to get “tacked on”) won’t be that high. I had them put our Dish service “on hold” in the meantime so we can see what we think.

I go back to work tomorrow, but only for three days and then I get a three day weekend! Huzzah! One morning I’ll spend at a training thing (Thursday) which will give me something a little different to do. It’s possible that eventually everything will start to feel something like “old hat” but for now it feels like every day is pretty different and I get to experience and do all kinds of different things. And when I’m at the desk and it’s quiet, I like to log into my hoopla account and read books. I can’t do it all the time and I don’t often get to do more than read a few pages, but it is nice nonetheless.

I’m a little nervous about going to The Laurels (a local Senior Assisted living place) by myself, but that’s not for another month so I shouldn’t get myself worked up about that yet. I have plenty of other things to be nervous about in the meantime. It’s exciting though too. I’m not likely to ever be super wealthy doing this job. I don’t know if I’ll make the money I did at Scholastic (not that I was in the top 2% there or anything, but commissions do add up), but I’m just so happier with the work. Some days it doesn’t feel real. Like, it doesn’t feel like anyone could possibly be paying me to do most of the things I do on a daily basis. Anyway, I’d better get to bed. I need to shower in the morning before I go to work. Oh! And I bet I’ve made the word count to get my next book. ;)
