I’ve worked four days in a row but I still have two more

Well, dad had a good birthday weekend I think. He did have a rough Friday because he had some sort of benign cyst thing get infected and he had to have it lanced/cut and drained but I think by Saturday night he was starting to feel better. They gave him two different antibiotics and he’s taking like six pills (of antibiotics) a day for like a week yet, but they seem to be helping. The doctor sent a scrap of part of it off for testing just to be sure that there weren’t any scary infections in the mix. I hadn’t even thought of that being an issue until dad said “there is not any staph infection.” He mentioned another scary thing or two that they checked to see if he had but I’m not sure what they were now. They were familiar-ish but I doubt I could’ve spelled them even if I could remember what he said. 

But we did have the usual family friends over on Saturday for dinner and enjoying a bit of a fire in the backyard. I wanted to do s’mores out there but they didn’t leave the fire going once we went inside for dinner. 

Sunday night my sister and co came over. They brought their dog, Calypso, who is a doll baby. She and Twoee roughhoused for several hours and seemed to have a great time. I’m surprised that Twoee is as rambunctious as she is after the weekend she had! But she is still young (just over two years) and it is getting to be “her weather” (i.e. not obnoxiously hot). She’s got all that fur so summer is always a lot for her. Not that she seems to mind too much. She still runs around and barks at the neighbors and loves long walks. It’s just that once it gets cooler she seems to constantly be in motion until she drops. I really hope we get a nice snow this year (not fucking ice, ffs) so that she can play in it because I think she would have the best time ever. 

The weather was glorious here today. I should’ve spent some more time in it and I am thinking about having my lunch outside tomorrow. 

Ahhhh crap I gotta go to bed.
