float_on_alright: (first rule of tea club)

I slept more than usual for a work night last night. I went to sleep just after midnight and slept until about 7:30 which was great, but I feel even more tired than I did yesterday. I know part of it is that I need a break. My body is telling me we’re done for a bit and we need to catch up on some sleep and some rest. I say “we” like my body and my brain/myself are separate entities which are ridiculous, but there ya go.

I have to wonder though, as I sit here drinking tea after already having had two large, strongly caffeinated drinks if I shouldn’t have gotten up early and exercised. I slept in this morning, skipping the morning workout since I have a meeting with the nurse to get an update on my progress this evening after work. I didn’t want to go to the place twice in one day (reasonable) and I wanted to sleep in a bit since last night was my later working night and I didn’t get home until around 9 pm (also reasonable). But I feel like every time I’ve skipped working out in the morning before work I’ve ended up feeling more tired over the course day than I do when I get up early, get less sleep, and do work out. I know that everyone says that working out gives you energy, but you also need sleep and recovery time. I feel like I’ve been doing pretty well at juggling those two things for the most part. I take off a day or two each week from working out and I do try to do different types of exercises and focus on different muscle groups to give my body the recovery time it needs.

I really do think I’ve lost more body fat, but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to see it in the numbers. I feel like my belly isn’t as big. I feel like my biggest belly “roll” is smaller than it was. It doesn’t change my silhouette in my clothes or change the way my clothes fit much, but I feel like there’s less of me overall so I’m hoping my numbers show that this evening.
