float_on_alright: (not lazy just energy saving)

It’s another night that I’m resisting writing, but I think it has more to do with just feeling lazy in general. I slept like 12 hours last night (and by night I mean until after noon today). I’ve barely done anything since I got up either. I had breakfast and then went to the pool with dad. I laid out by the pool for a bit, floated in the water a bit, and then laid out a bit longer until I felt like I was going to have to either go home or put on more sunscreen and get back in the water. I was also getting hungry so we headed home after that where emptied the dishwaser and I read while occasionally watched bits of the Criminal Minds reruns dad had on. I helped a bit with dinner but it was spaghetti and garlic toast so it’s not like that was hard. I didn’t even do the hard part, just put garlic salt on the (already buttered) bread and occasionally stirred the boiling noodles until I put them through the strainer. After dinner I did do the dishes too, so I guess I haven’t been a total lug today.

I have mostly been a lug today.

There is a good bit that I really need to do tomorrow before I go back to work on Monday. I have a lot of clothes I should put away, I really need to vacuum my room, the bathroom needs attention, and there is still a shit ton of stuff on my loveseat that could use to be organized. I’m not sure how much I’ll get done tomorrow. Dad asked me if I wanted to go to the pool again tomorrow and mom wants to listen to a teaching tape (I’ve been putting it off for almost two weeks now so I doubt I’ll be able to push it much farther without getting into an outright fight with her). Those things don’t take up a whole lot of time, but if I sleep late again, which I imagine I will, that means that I’ll be going to the pool shortly after “breakfast” and then I’ll only have between getting back from the pool and eating dinner to do any kind of cleaning up. I’m not sure what I’ll get done, especially since that’s when mom will likely want to listen the teaching thing. Ugh. Oh well, that is what it is. And I’ll be home Monday evening so I could do something then too so as long as I get something done, I should be all right.

Either way, I’m calling it quits for tonight.

I’m excited because they’re showing new episodes of a show called “Death in Paradise” on one of the PBS channels. There aren’t a whole lot of mystery shows I get excited about, I don’t think. I love Elementary and I was a big fan of the BBC Sherlock initially though I’m not sure I have quite the same obsession over it that I first did. I used to enjoy Castle a lot, but around about the 4th or 5th season, I was kind of over it.

Actually, I guess there are quite a few mystery shows I enjoy. It’s not usually the mystery part I like though. I suppose that’s probably true for a lot of people. It’s the chemistry of the actors and the building of the background plots that I’m usually invested in.

Death in Paradise is one of the few shows where I’m almost as invested in the mystery as I am in the characters. The thing about Death in Paradise is that the mysteries are very much like Agatha Christie mysteries in that whoever couldn’t have possibly done it is who did do it. It’s fun to try to figure out who did it, but it’s even more fun to try to figure out how.

There’s always one little thing that throws everything off. The characters are great, though there has been quite a bit of turnover in the cast. Still, the mysteries are great and the scenery is beautiful. There’s always a nice bit of humor in the show too.

One of the best bits is the lizard at the shack. He’s good fun.

I stressed through the end of War Horse even though I had already seen it and I knew that the horse and his boy both lived through the end of the movie. It’s just very stressful.
