float_on_alright | Femslash and Running Cramps

I went out for a walk/jog today and picked up where I left off on the Couch to 5k app which was totally a mistake, I kept having muscle cramps. I’m wondering if maybe there was another reason for or an additional contributing issue for the leg cramps. I did stretch beforehand so I don’t think that was it, but I’m wondering if maybe I’m low on potassium or something like that. I want to look into adding some sort of vitamin mix or similar to my smoothies. I’m working on my overall diet, but I know that is a work in progress and I’d like to support my body in the meantime, if that makes sense. I’m sure there’s something out there. I’m just hoping it’s not terribly expensive.

I’ve finished my last story and I’m trying to decide what to work on next. I’ve got my Big Damn Table prompts and I’d like to do another on that list and I right now I’m pretty much focused on Natasha/Darcy. I’m hoping with the new movies coming out that there will be more women to ship. I know that in the Black Panther comics, there is a lesbian love affair with two incredibly strong, brave, kickass women and while I know that the movie decided not to show that relationship outright, I’m thinking there’s a possibility that the two women will still have some good onscreen moments together. Plus more women in the universe in general is just a good thing all around.

I really want to write more femslash in general so I’m debating if maybe there are some other fun pairs out there that I haven’t thought of yet. I mean, Sharon Carter is a great character even if their persistence on pairing her with Steve is ridiculous. Maybe there is someone else in the universe that would be a good match. Like maybe the reason that Natasha is so interested in Steve dating her in Captain America: Winter Soldier is because she doesn’t think she has a chance with her? That has potential. And then there’s Maria Hill, lovely woman that she is, could very well be a lesbian since we know absolutely nothing about her personal life. Maybe she and Sharon Carter have a thing. You know, I think that has potential. They both have blank enough backgrounds that I could make up virtually anything and still be movie canon compliant. I know the books are a bit of a different story when it comes to Maria since there is a lot more of her in those than in the movies, but even in what I’ve read there hasn’t been much about her personal life.

Granted, I could go with some of the comic series characters. Kate Bishop and America Chavez have great chemistry and there’s suggestion that they are in fact attracted to each other even if Kate was dating that Novarr dude (I think it was him in that series? It’s been a while since I read any of those) last I was reading. There are also the new Wasp, who is incredible and darling and has an amazing friendship that’s just beautiful and a whole gaggle of super smart girls she’s gathered.

There’s a prompt in my Big Damn Table that’s “fighting/arguing” and I really do want to make it Natasha and Darcy fighting about everything because they’re attracted to each other and don’t know how to handle it. I love those kinds of stories and I want to write one for them so bad. The thing is I have not been able to figure out how to write ongoing arguments for them. I’m just struggling to figure out what there scenario is that has them working together regularly or at least in each other spaces regularly so that they have the opportunity to just bicker over things. I keep tossing it around in my head. I do hope to get there eventually. I’m hopeful I’ll figure out something.

In the meantime I’m debating about my review of “Dirty Deeds” because the book doesn’t come out for a few more weeks. I want to do my best to give the book a bump in attention because I enjoyed it a lot. I’m not a crazy popular reviewer on Goodreads nor do I have a super big following on Twitter, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t help some. The debate is whether I go ahead and review it now and then try to tweet a bit about it later when it actually is published, or wait to review it at all until it’s about to be released. I feel like the immediate review and then some follow up tweets/what-have-yous when it comes out would be the best option, but I’m also concerned that I’ll forget to do the follow up stuff when the book actually does come out.
