Well, those I didn't add as LJ icons. I'm not sure how those work, I don't make them I just save other people's. The icons on the side, those I uploaded to my photobucket account. Then I went to "customize my journal" and to the area of the "customization" that says "components" - not all journal styles have this option, so I don't know for sure that you'll have it. In the free text component I typed:

If you figure out how to make the animated lj icons, send a few hints my way.
